Maya Urbanowicz, founder of New England-based art event company, Encounterworks Productions, has produced and curated multiple events and exhibitions in the Boston area over the last 10 years. Recently returning to Vermont, Maya seeks to create a monthly dance event and fundraiser, Eastern Block Party: celebrating arts & the multi-cultural community of Burlington.
Raffle tickets will be sold from 8pm to 11, with prizes including a gift certificate for a massage with Emerge Massage Studio
This month, the proceeds from Eastern Block Party will support O.N.E. Arts Collective, an emerging collective of artists based in the Old North End of Burlington. Faced with unexpected zoning changes to their new gallery space, the O.N.E. Arts Collective is forced to relocate. The EasteRn Block Party will allow the community an opportunity to meet O.N.E. Arts Collective and learn about the programs they offer, while enjoying some dance music influenced by traditional sounds, and home food from eastern Europe. Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, prize winners from raffle ticket sales will be announced at 11pm.
